Ponce – As part of the celebration of Housing and Public Housing Week, the Department of Housing and its Public Housing Administration, along with Public Housing management agents MJ Consulting, Individual Management, J.A. Machuca, and Cost Control Company, sponsored the launch of more than a dozen AVP entrepreneurs in the Central Atrium of Plaza del Caribe in Ponce.
The island's First Gentleman, José Yovin Vargas, participated in the event, and along with Secretary Ciary Pérez Peña toured the exhibits where products and services were displayed.
The Department thanked the participants for their willingness to pursue their dreams by starting small and medium-sized businesses. She also thanked the AVP officials and the managing agents of areas 6, 7, 8, and 11 of the AVP for their training and efforts to enable these Public Housing residents to achieve their dreams of owning small businesses.
Following a tour and greeting, the officials, including Secretary Pérez Peña, AVP Administrator Juan Rosario Hernández, PR First Gentleman José Yovin Vargas, and Ponce Senator Jaimie Barlucea, proceeded to the indoor court of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ponce, where a massive Pa' Mí Gente Services Fair was held. Over 1,000 residents were able to enjoy exhibits, vaccination and medical services orientations, as well as job orientations from public and private sector agencies that offered their services to AVP residents.
