Act No. 97 of June 10, 1972, as amended, known as the “Organic Law of the Department of Housing”. To this body, under the Administrative Bulletin No. OE-2005-68 of November 4, 2005, all existing functions, programs, activities and units in the Administration for Community Revitalization (ARCO) are transferred and consolidated to it. In addition, by virtue of the Administrative Bulletin No. OE-2006-03 of January 23, 2006, all existing functions, programs, activities and units in the Housing Development and Improvement Administration are transferred and consolidated to it.
Increase housing inventory, manage existing public housing projects and offer subsidy programs to individuals and families with low or medium resources that allow them to have a decent, safe and own home that contributes to the improvement of their quality of life and self-sufficiency.
Provide accessibility to one's own, decent and safe housing. Facilitate the development and purchase of affordable housing for all Puerto Ricans, particularly those most in need.
