San Juan – The Department of Housing's Emergency Management Coordination Office offered training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the teaching and non-teaching staff at the Department of Housing's Care Center. They were also taught techniques to prevent drowning and choking. This training was provided by Dr. Jorge S. Villalba, emergency and first aid instructor.
This training is provided to comply with and strengthen the processes and protocols established by the Department of Family Affairs and ACUDEN. According to Dr. Villalba, "This type of training is essential for staff like these who work with children between 2 and 4 years old. At the same time, they already have the necessary knowledge to work in a CPR emergency and the use of the AED and prevent drowning under any circumstances."
