San Juan – The Puerto Rico Housing Finance Authority (PRHFA) is granting a tax incentive and allocating funds for the rehabilitation of Santa Juanita Housing for the Elderly in Bayamón. This is being achieved through the awarding of $7.1 million in tax credits, $11.9 million from the PRHFA Home Program, and $5.8 million from the PRHFA Housing Trust Fund (HTF). Present at the event were Ricardo Álvarez Barreto, Executive Director of the PRHFA, and Omar Figueroa, Esq., Undersecretary of the Department of Housing, representing Secretary of Housing Ciary Pérez Peña. They, along with other officials, toured some of the apartments and areas that will be remodeled in the near future.
“In compliance with Governor Jenniffer González Colón’s public policy of promoting the development of affordable housing for our senior citizens, we have supported this important project that will allow us to rehabilitate an emblematic senior living facility in Bayamón, guaranteeing safe, accessible and sustainable conditions for this population,” commented Álvarez Barreto.
