Capitol Hill – Two employees of the Department of Housing were honored by the House of Representatives in celebration of Public Servants Week. Undersecretary of Housing, Omar Figueroa, Esq., represented the Secretary of the Department of Housing, Ciary Pérez Peña, at the recognition ceremony for the Public Servants of Excellence of District 36, held at the House of Representatives with its President, Carlos “Johnny” Méndez. Mr. Figueroa thanked the president of the legislative body for the gesture and congratulated the employees for the recognition of their work both in the Carolina office and at the central Housing building.
Also present at the ceremony were Honorable Eric Coltoff, Justice of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico; the mayors of Río Grande and Vieques, Angel “Bori” González and José “Junito” Corcino, respectively; and the Department's Deputy Regional Director in Carolina, Ms. Omayra Betancourt.
