The Department of Housing's Day Care Center, which has been providing services for almost 44 years, recently celebrated its Field Day. The center serves children ages 2 to 4, children and grandchildren of employees of the Department of Housing, its affiliated agency, the Public Housing Administration (AVP), and the CDBG-DR program. This is one of the longest-serving day care centers in the Government of Puerto Rico.
The children, parents, and guardians enjoyed, along with their teachers and director, a variety of games and entertainment provided by employees of the Eco's Sport Park, adjacent to Luis Muñoz Marín Park and the Pedrin Zorrilla Coliseum in Hato Rey.
He also urged the employees "to continue working with great effort and dedication as they have done so far, thus making our Agency a more welcoming, safe, clean, and organized place to work," Secretary Rodríguez concluded.
The teaching staff is made up of Ms. Mayra Escalera, Teacher's Assistant; Ms. Carmen Negrón, Preschool Teacher; Ms. Nayda Varcarcel, Teacher's Assistant; and Ms. Rosa Cordero. Ms. Wanda Álamo, Cook, also works at the Daycare Center. and Ms. Ederlis Cordero, Kitchen Manager. All of this staff is supervised by the Center's Director, Ms. Laura Dávila. The Center is attached to the Human Resources Department, headed by Ms. Lisneida Nieves.
