Vieques – Continuing with the commitment of the Department of Housing Secretary Ciary Pérez Peña and in accordance with Governor Jennifer González's public policy to continue empowering communities through the issuance of property titles, the Department recently delivered two titles to citizens who had been waiting for them for years.

In this case, the titles were delivered to Mr. Alex Genera of parcel #405 and Mr. José C. Ortiz of parcel #288, both in the Monte Carmelo sector of Vieques. Both citizens had been waiting for their property titles for more than 12 years.

Pictured here are Mr. Gerena and Mr. Ortiz, when the mayor of Nena Island, José A. "Junito" Corcino Acevedo, and the regional deputy director of the Department of Housing in Carolina, Ms. Omayra Betancourt Colon, on behalf of Secretary Pérez Peña and the assistant secretary of Management and Project Development, Mr. José Collazo, presented the titles to these residents of Monte Carmelo, Vieques.
