As we join in the grief and sorrow of our Governor Pedro Pierluisi and his entire family upon the loss of his father, Engineer Jorge Pierluisi Díaz, the employees and extended family of the Department of Housing, its CDBG-DR program, and our affiliated agency, the Public Housing Administration (AVP), we ask the Almighty to give them strength in this difficult time following this sensitive passing.

Secretary William Rodríguez, in his condolences to this great loss, said, "We must recognize the legacy left in the Department of Housing by Engineer Jorge Pierluisi, who served as Secretary of the Department of Housing for two consecutive four-year terms from 1977 to 1985. We offer a prayer for the comfort of Governor Pedro Pierluisi, his daughter Cary, and their families and friends."

In the photo, Secretary Rodríguez presented a gift to Engineer Pierluisi, in the presence of his children, Governor Pedro Pierluisi and his (semi-hidden) daughter, Cary Pierluisi. Rest in peace.
