San Juan - Our colleague Olfa Durán Paoli, coordinator of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) of the Auxiliary Human Resources Secretariat at the Department of Housing, became certified as a Clinical Thanatologist after completing a course offered by Ana G. Méndez University, Cupey Campus. Mrs. Durán was part of a group of professionals from various public agencies who took the first in-person course in this specialty over a period of 10 months.
Thanatology is a scientific and interdisciplinary discipline that studies death, the dying process, and grief, seeking to give meaning to these experiences to improve the quality of life of terminally ill patients and their families, as well as those facing any type of significant loss, offering support before, during, and after a loss.
On behalf of the Secretary of the Department of Housing, Ciary Pérez Peña, and its employees, we congratulate our colleague Olfa and wish her much success.
