(Aguadilla, Puerto Rico - February 20, 2026) - The Secretary of the Department of Housing, Ciary Pérez Peña, announced that the usufruct agreement with Ramona Cruz Sanabria, her husband Jacobo Pérez, and her siblings Margot and Geño Cruz Sanabria has been formalized.
"Through this document, they are granted the right to use lots 1 and 1A, located in the Ramos Soto sector of the Playuela neighborhood, to build residences for Ramona and her husband, as well as for her siblings, respectively. Since the family accepted the lot that the Department made available to them, we have maintained constant communication to explain all the processes, including the land survey that was carried out at the end of January," Pérez Peña emphasized.
The Secretary added that once the structures are built and water and electricity services are connected, as established by law, they will be granted their property titles. “Our commitment remains firm to support this family every step of the way until the construction of their homes is complete and they receive their property titles. For Governor Jenniffer González Colón and her administration, it is a priority that our senior citizens have a good quality of life and are treated with love and respect,” she explained.
The mayor of Aguadilla, Julio Roldán Concepción, accompanied the secretary at the signing of the usufruct agreement and pledged to continue working together to support this family. “Our commitment to the well-being of this family dates back to 2023 and remains unwavering. We are confident that the combined efforts and commitment of the municipal and state governments will finally achieve the physical and emotional stability of this family,” the mayor stated.
