San Juan - The Undersecretary of the Department of Housing, Omar Figueroa, Esq., and the Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Housing Finance Authority (HFA), Ricardo Álvarez Barreto, met with Representative Omayra Martínez of District 21, which includes the municipalities of Guánica, Las Marías, Lajas, Maricao, Sabana Grande, and Yauco, who chairs the House of Representatives' Housing and Urban Development Committee.

At this meeting, they spoke with representatives from the construction and private sectors about the various initiatives undertaken by the Housing and HFA to build housing with government incentives so that it can be affordable to people with moderate incomes. Technical staff from the CDBG-DR/MIT program and the HFA, from the legislator herself, and from private companies, discussed possible alternatives for developing units with these incentives for a future project in Sabana Grande.
